Episode 40: the pandemic starts here

Alastair, James and Emily are joined by an extra special guest, regular listener and correspondant Marcia Armbruster. Together they place a game of 'Anticipation', where nature meets magnets and the puns write themselves, whilst trying to avoid MPs' expenses and opening James' mail. Along the way there is a thought for the day, a special German word for the week, and an episode of The Urchers so robust that even Alastair Bennett will like it. Plus a distressing dip into the Larkives for some ill-advised seasonal podcasting.

But perhaps best of all, Chris Law makes a cameo appearance in this podcast - a substantial one, like when Charlton Heston turns up in 'Beneath the Planet of the Apes', and with similar rippling muscles and sweaty intensity.

Alastair, Emily and James celebrate Easter with a few blasts of Andrew Lloyd Webber and a round of Star Wars monopoly. As the dark side battles with the galactic credit crisis, special guest Andy Holloway tests the podcast for electrical safety, there's an extra steamy episode of The Urchers and there is a thought for the day from the nearest living equivalent to Pope John Paul II.

Christmas special: Wealy Parpins

(45 downloads)

Join lovable cockney Dick Dyke on a journey down Victoria Street, where heavy weather is a-brewin at number 2! Alastair and Chris are drowning in the shit that is dripping through their ceiling, but their other housemate James is too obsessed with his artistic endeavours to help out. When a new housemate, Wealy Parpins, floats down from the sky, they embark on a series of fantastical adventures, taking them through a chalk painting to meet some fisting nuns, to tea on the ceiling with David Tennant, and over the rooftops with the cheeky repair men from Ambassador Property, whilst meeting exciting characters like Pink Pussy, Admiral Boom and Alan Rickman.

But will James get his comeuppance when he is tricked into taking Alastair and Chris to the world famous Composers' Guild?

A perfect magical adventure for all the family, "Wealy Parpins" is also pure filth from start to finish.

Episode 36: could somebody explain what happened in the last hour?

Fish and chips combine with champagne in a heady mix of pornography and intellectualism as the boys from Victoria Street struggle on with their podcast in spite of a singular lack of support.

As well as the usual stimulating conversation, there is time for some advice about staying safe on Guy Fawkes night, a Ted Hughes line of the week, and the first episode of our brand new soap opera "The Urchers".

Chris also finds the time to slip into something more comfortable.

Episode 35: grow a pair

(37 downloads)

Download this episode (68 min)
Though nobody is at Victoria Street, James is far from home and Chris is nowhere to be seen, the legendary podcast continues on riotous form. Sit back and listen to a suspenseful game of cribbage, an impromptu debate about tattoos and piercings, advise about maintaining a healthy grip on your orgasms, and music from Xenakis and the Godmen (these are two separate artists, not a scary version of Echo and the Bunnymen).
